The fundamental woman lies on her back position - learning ejaculation control

If you're starting your sex life you will usually find it easier to use an "on-the-side" or "woman astride" position. However, the fundamental woman-lies-on-her-back position allows more intense sexual activity. In this position, the woman lies on her back with her legs spread, her knees partly bent and her heels either resting on the mattress or cupped in the hollows at the back of her partner's knees. The man rests his weight on her hands and knees directly above her body, with his knees together between her legs. After penetration, he may shift part of his weight to his elbows so that his hands are partially free, or he may curl his back to allow some mouth-to-breast play. The woman has both hands completely free and can easily reach most of her man's sexually sensitive parts. She has good purchase with her legs to permit to-and-fro and rotary movements of her hips. She can take quite an active part in intercourse.

The fundamental woman-on-her-back position calls for somewhat more skill and control than the side posture. The man usually finds that he cannot relax readily to help himself control any tendency to premature ejaculation. In fact, the tense muscles he has in this position (or indeed any position in which he must hold himself up) makes some quivering and muscular tension inevitable even if he stops all sexual activity. The fact that the woman's sexual activity in this position can easily speed her man into climax, which is not generally true in the side by side positions, adds to the control problem. Thus both man and woman must keep the man's sexual excitement somewhat below the level which precipitates his orgasm and ejaculation, and both must expect an occasional quick conclusion while they are learning the necessary control.

However, the main reason for mastering ejaculation control in the side by side or woman on top position before you try the standard man on top posture is that this latter position calls for synchronized sexual movement, which requires considerable concentration and often proves too distracting until you have thoroughly mastered climax control. At first, the woman will find it easiest to synchronize her movement by keeping one or both hands lightly on her man's hip or buttock, being careful not to take the pace-setting role away from him by leading, but simply timing her own movements to correspond. The man should generally limit his motions both in frequency and in extent to allow his partner to follow them in perfect rhythm, especially when one or both begin to approach their climax. At this point, instinct will push you toward such rapid thrusting movements that synchronized movement will break down unless you use deliberate restraint. The satisfaction you will receive through simultaneous orgasm will well repay the extra self-control, though.

Approaches from the rear

Another position which guarantees womanly comfort is that in which the man approaches from behind rather than from in front of his partner: the easiest position for this approach finds both partners lying on their sides.

The lying-on-sides posture with approach from the rear

In this position, the woman lies on her side with her knees drawn partially up. Her man lies on the same side just behind her, with his chest fairly far away from her back in order to bring the angle of the penis and the vagina into alignment. This position gives little chance of achieving an orgasm for the woman since it permits little sexual stimulation of the clitoris. The man can derive considerable satisfaction at any stage, although the opportunity for his partner to contribute either sexual movement or caresses is somewhat limited.

When either fatigue or bodily limitations (arthritis, perhaps) or desire for a change means the woman prefers a more passive and inactive role, she can let her man enjoy the riches of her body by means of entry from the rear while she lies on her side. The variety in sex position may contribute something to your sex life as a couple, and there is little strain upon the woman. If extra lube is needed, use a water based lube with condoms.

Rear entry sex permits a great deal of fondling and extra stimulation during intercourse. The man has both hands free and can use them on breasts, thighs, abdomen, buttocks and even on the clitoris. However, he may find his staying power rather limited in this position, because it's so arousing. Approach from the rear and the woman astride positions allow caressing of the clitoris during intercourse more easily than other postures, and so allow the possibility of a woman's orgasm during intercourse

Other approaches from the rear

You can also enjoy rear entry sex in several other postures. The woman can get up on her hands and knees, then lower her chest to the bed (usually with a pillow underneath to increase comfort) while the man kneels behind her. This position occasionally leads to pregnancy in women who have otherwise been unable to conceive, because the discharged semen tends to pool right at the mouth of the uterus.) It also permits somewhat more vigorous sexual thrusting than while lying on your sides, and also involves some extra friction due to the angle of the penis in the vagina. During intercourse and, should the woman achieve it, orgasm the man can enjoy stroking, kneading and clutching caresses of the woman's thighs, buttocks and back.  The variety of both genital and bodily stimulation make the woman-kneeling approach a pleasing sexual variant. However, male thrusts tend to be deep and fast, and the woman's position is quite fatiguing so most couples make intercourse in this position rather quick. Though it may not bother you, you can also get noises like farts as you make love which result from a tendency of the vagina to suck in air in this position as the man thrusts.

If you need a lot of variations to keep your sex life exciting, you can aIso try the approach-from-the-rear with both partners standing or with the man standing while the woman kneels at the edge of the bed. The woman's strained muscles may add a kind of exciting quivering sensation in these somewhat positions...all of which adds to the variety!

The angle of entry can affect your pleasure....

Sex postures in which the penis enters at an angle different from that of the vagina are a pleasant variation. The sensitive area along the front wall of the vagina (the G spot) can make sexual intercourse very pleasing to the woman when the angle of entrance forces the tip of the penis against this area. After penetration in the usual woman-on-her-back posture, the man raises his chest as high as possible without losing genital contact. The woman lifts her legs high so that her heels rest on his shoulders. Once the woman's heels are hooked on her partner's shoulders, both partners can relax, since the natural recoil of the legs almost balances the man's weight. The woman can make virtually no sexual movements in this posture and can only reach a few parts of her man's body, but she can always spur him on with cries of enthusiasm! The man can enjoy vigorous and sustained action which apart from providing her with superb levels of sexual pleasure, may have a great effect on his partner's G spot! You can read a lot more about how to find the G spot and how to stimulate the G spot, on this information site.

A few women find that hooking their heels on their man's shoulders places their thigh muscles under some strain or proves uncomfortable in some other way. A compromise posture brings the tip of the penis against the front vaginal wall without these strains. Simply place two pillows under the woman's hips before starting intercourse, and let her draw her knees up close to her chest after sexual entry. This position gives somewhat weaker stimulation of the G spot than the the heels-on-shouIders position, but allows more opportunity for the woman to caress and fondle her mate during intercourse.
